United Foster Parents of Missouri

CWA Local 6355 is proud to announce that a foster parent union is getting off the ground here in Missouri! Foster parents have long been under valued and without fair representation in this state. With a budget crisis approaching we know that funds for social programs like foster care are often the first to be cut.

Now is the time to Organize!

What We Stand For
Better Pay to Support Missouri's children:
Missouri's foster care payments are less than half the national average to raise a child. We deserve more so we can provide more for the children in our care.
Benefits: We deserve accessible healthcare so that we can maintain our health and the health of our families. We should have the option to contribute to a retirement plan.
Having a Voice on the Job: Foster parenst are direcly affected by policies written by the Legislature and enforced by the Children's Division, yet we have no seat at the table when those policies are being created. We deserve our own, independent voice that can represent our interests.

Update! Governor Nixon has requested an average increase of $140 per child in the clothing allowance in his budget request. We must work hard to make sure this passes the budget negotiations in the House and Senate. Call 1-800-575-6355 for more information on how to get involved!
